Arkham ground dwellers

Arkham ground dwellers.

In the summer of 1890, numerous people began to vanish in the city of Arkham.
A serial killer was also caught that same summer, in the  neighboring town of Dunwhich.
Mr otlish was a person of interest in the disappearances,Arkham detectives visited Mr Otlish in his holding cell prior to his court arraignment.

During the interview with detectives, Mr Otlish was asked about the body parts, found inside of his home.
Mr Oltish told the detectives that the parts came from an ancient burial ground that over looked the Miskatonik valley, and that he did not kill anyone.
The detectives asked Mr Oltish why he had so many body parts in his home.
Mr Oltish said that he used them as offerings to the Gug,A race of ancient beings who inhabit the underground world.

Mr Oltish told the detectives, that the Gug would crawl out of sewers and drainage systems at night in search of human flesh.
Mr Oltish found a way to keep the Gug from eating him,he would use the parts of the dead and create  symbols and soak them in goats blood, placing these symbols on his front steps would keep the grug happy, they would eat it and move onto the next home.

Detectives did not believe mr oltish,  or his story about monsters living under their city.
when  the detectives asked Mr Oltish if he could show them the place that  he disposed his victims he cringed in fear.
Mr otlish knew that he did not kill anyone, but he also knew that the detectives did not believe him.
He looked at the officers and asked them if they would take him to Arkham, and show them the lair of the Gug.
The detectives dismissed Mr Oltishes  story about the Gug as an excuse of insanity, but they took him up on his offer in hope to find the missing people in the city.

The detectives transferred Mr Oltish to the Arkham asylum, and the next morning assembled a team to take Mr Oltish into the cities underground.
The detectives waited until it was low tide, to take Mr Oltish to a large draining pipe that emptied into the mighty Miskatonik river.

As soon as they entered the cave like drainage system, they smelt something putrid, everyone knew the smell it was the stench of death, and it was so pungent that it made a few of the officers vomit violently.
The detectives asked Mr Oltish how many people he had killed,he told them again that he did not kill anyone and began to shake,He cried out to them to believe what he said about the Gug and begged them to leave.

The detectives slapped Mr Oltish telling him that he was the only monster  among them, and they told him to shut his mouth and to lead them to the missing people.
The team moved about a half a mile into the cavernous like drainage system, and suddenly began to hear noises.
Mr Oltish began to get very nervous and begged the detectives to turn back,"whats wrong Mr Oltish you can not stomach what you have done?" said one of the detectives.
I did not do anything to any living person said my Oltish, but the Gug they have and they will do it to us too

A loud unidentifiable scream came from deeper in the drainage system, It startled the detectives of the team to take out their guns.
suddenly two glowing eyes appeared  in front of the team, and the officers began to fire their weapons at the eyes.
suddenly all was silent,Mr Oltish was cowering on the ground like a baby and one of the officers laid besides him headless and in a pool of blood.

Panic set in and the team separated,Mr Oltish ran deeper into the drainage system, the remaining detectives followed him I turned around to leave the drainage system.
when I turned around I saw it,The Grug as it stood in front of me,he held the officers head in one of his four hands, something startled it for a second he turned away,I knew that it was my only chance to run and I did.

I never did see Mr Oltish or any of the other team members again your honor, You may believe me or not that is your choice your honor but please do not make the mistake I made do not go into the underground the Gug are real.

The above is the  court testimony of Joseph Marble a former detective of Arkham.
